At Gries & Lenhardt, P.L.L.P., our sports group can assist both professional and amateur
sports clients in a broad and varying array of legal and business issues.
We can assist clients in general business transactions and representation; financing
issues; partnership dealings; matters of intellectual property; sponsorship
agreements; mergers and acquisitions; real estate and project developments; risk
management issues; and personal injury cases. Specifically, we can provide support
in these key areas of sports law:
Business transactions and representation. We can represent sports organizations
from many different fields of athletics. We are prepared to represent sports teams and
organizations at all levels of involvement, from individual athletes and non-profit
organizations to state-wide governing associations. The matters we are capable of
handling are as varied as the clients themselves, ranging from relatively simple contracts
to complex and sensitive legal matters.
Player representation. We are also prepared to review player representation agreements and marketing contracts, to structure solid business relationships, and to counsel athletes on various aspects of their careers and personal lives. We will also work with your agent, insurance representative and financial advisors to ensure your interests are being adequately protected. Unlike many agents, however, we can also provide advice on other related legal issues or separate business endeavors.
Facility finance and construction. Our attorneys are experienced in the complex
mix of public and private financing often necessary to complete sports facilities
projects. We also are familiar with managing the relationships necessary to complete
and operate a facility, including construction agreements, recreational use agreements,
and leases.
At Gries & Lenhardt, we are committed to building relationships with our clients
and are recognized as gaining our clients’ utmost trust in handling their most difficult
legal issues.
